| Persian Restaurant |
| Located in Shepherd’s Bush, Sufi is a magic carpet for the senses. This family-run restaurant is deceptively low-key but here, they don’t need frills and glitter to dazzle the food does that for them. In addition, the rustic surroundings translate into uncommonly low restaurant prices, with a meal for two, including wine and service, costing around £22.50 per person. As you sit down, flatbread dough (taftoon) is rolled out in front of you and is baked in a miniature, beehive-shaped kiln at the front. There is a huge variety of subtly spiced lamb and chicken kebabs, but your culinary adventure doesn’t stop here: there are many soups to start, using traditional ingredients such as lentils, chickpeas, noodles and fresh herbs. Ghormeh Sabzi will be popular with meat-lovers lamb with kidney beans, cooked limes and fresh herbs are cooked to melting perfection. Most dishes are also available in vegetarian versions and desserts if you can manage them are simple and refreshing. |
